Josh’s recovery

September 21, 2025, Josh was involved in a terrible bicycle/pick up truck collision.
His list of injuries was significant, and he spent 10 days in the ICU, and nearly a month in the hospital.

Injuries:
Broken Cheekbone (no surgery required)
Broke Transverse Process, 1 in neck, 3 in lumbar (These are the side protrusions of the spine)(no surgery required)
Fractured Left Scapula (no surgery required)
Broke/Fractured every rib on Left side (4 plates installed)
Fractured tip of Left pinky finger (surgery, thankfully didn’t have to remove it!)
Removed Spleen and part of Colon
Broke/Fractured Pelvis in 5 places (plates and very long screws installed)
Broke/Fractured Right leg Tibia and Fibula (large plate and many, many screws), Fasciotomy on both sides of right leg
Deep skin abrasions on lower legs, ankles

He was wheelchair-bound after his release from the hospital, and cleared to start load-bearing starting December 3rd (but there’s a chance he was on his feet before then, first with a walker around Nov. 21st, and then with arm crutches around Nov 29th).

Thanks to our family, community, and amazing clients, we were able to pause our work for the last part of the year.
Jen was able to do a few small projects solo, and work on our other business, Slate-ish, while Josh was working on healing.
We’re thrilled at his progress, and look forward to an amazing 2026.
